After reading the other reviews I have to wonder if there is any consistency in the production of these boots. I have slender legs and normally do not have any problem with boots being too tight around my calf. Usually, the opposite is true, and I have too much room for my taste. These boots were just too tight. There is no way for me to wear pants tucked into the boots. Even high socks or tights would make it unbearable. I ordered an 8M – the boots were described as being “regular shaft” boots. I’m surprised that other reviewers note that their boots were much too wide.
I’m disappointed because I love the look of the boots.

I am tall and slender, but I have pretty average calves and boots usually fit them. I got the regular shaft. I tried them on over knee-high hiking socks and jeans, and there was still at least an extra inch of room. I definitely didn’t need the elastic insert at all. I would have kept them anyway and just worn them with jeans as opposed to skirts, but there was absolutely no definition in the ankle. It looked bulky and felt awkward. I hate to lose the cost of shipping, but they made me feel frumpy and sloppy.

These boots come in two widths. However, wide width ankles are SO BIG, literally 2 inches wider than my ankle, they look more like Santa Clause boots.

Great boot. Too bad it’s listed incorrectly. I ordered this boot because it is listed as “Regular Shaft” boot, but when I received it it was the wide shaft instead. Very disappointed

I love when I find wide calf boots, and have bought several pairs, all without incident. When I received these boots, they were GOURGEOUS, but I could tell from looking at them they would not fit my muscular legs. I’m disappointed I have to send them back. Only buy these boots if you like the way they look, but NOT if you need them to fit a wide calf. . . I since see that the heading was changed and the boots are no longer listed as wide calf. Reviews work!
