The boots are great. I went a 1/2 size larger and they fit great. I would recommend then as a great boot.

I got a great deal on these boots, so I’m very happy with them. Docs haven’t really been the same since they stopped making them in England, but these seem pretty close. The classic sole and stitching seem as good as ever. Only time will tell if the leather holds up, but I don’t see any flaws or defects. If you get a good price like I did ($40!), buy them.

These boots are nice- They look sharp (the color is really closer to Oxblood, not clown red as the picture might appear), and have a very comfortable sole. That said, there are some things to consider-

*In case you dont know, Dr. Martens shoe sizing runs a little big. If you wear between a 12. 5 and 13, go for the UK 11. This is contrary to what is suggested by Amazon (half sizes use next higher size). Width was generous (I have a wide foot, and these seemed to fit fine. )

*Calf fit may be a problem. I have 19. 5″ calves, and there was no way I could get the boots closed. As a result I had to return the boots. :(

*These boots are not the UK made docs. Some people like the UK ones better, others don’t care.

*Remember boots take some breaking in time- This is true of all boots. They should not be uncomfortable when you first get them, but they will feel better after a couple months of wear.

Just got my pair of size 9’s UK (for size 10-10. 5 wide US feet), and I’m pretty well satisfied with the size and width of these boots.

My only complaint is that the boots have heel pads which are simply glued to the inside of the boot, and are not covered by any kind of insert or liner. The glue isn’t particularly secure on one of them, and even the other which is more secure will eventually work loose, since there’s nothing to stop friction from slowly prying it up (it’s easy to catch up on the underside of the pads). I figure I’ll buy a thin insert and reglue them when the time comes, but this aspect of their design is a little disappointing.
