Thought these would be a really good deal - a leather riding boot for only $100, but I probably should have gone with Chrysantha design because I was not impressed with the design of these boots. I have thinner calves, but the calf on this boot is absolutely huge and very unflattering. Also, the zipper is on the outside of the boot, which I don't really like.

The actual foot fits really well and is quite cute. However, it doesn't make up for what can only be considered a very poor design in the entire calf of the boot. I'm returning these as soon as possible.

These boots were a dream come true for me, because I was looking for something similar for a long time, but I can never find boots that fit my calves correctly. Regular boots rarely zip over my larger calves, while "extended calf" sizes, sometimes in the same style of boot, are much too large. I needed something only slightly bigger than a normal calf size. These boots fit perfectly, and I think that the 15. 5 inches that the product description says is accurate.

Therefore, if you have larger but not quite extended calf size legs, these should fit great. If not, like the other reviewer, not so much. I don't consider it to be a poor design in the boot at all, only something to be aware of.

I was impressed with the quality of the leather and sole, as well as the zipper. I personally like the outside placement of the zipper, and I love how it extends all the way down the foot. Very mod.

Two other things to be aware of: The boot is VERY tall. I am 5'5", and the boot hits at mid-knee in front on me. I can't decide if I love that or if I want to take them to an expert cobbler and have them shortened. It's not at all uncomfortable as the boot is lower in the back, allowing your knee to bend, and the leather is very soft. But in general, this boot will probably work better on girls my height or taller, unless you want to try to work it as an over the knee boot. Which you might. Which could be cool.

The other thing is that the white isn't white, it's more like ivory or a very, very pale beige. I was very disappointed at first, but now the color is growing on me. Maybe you don't care, or maybe you like ivory better. But be warned--not white.

That all being said, I love these boots, and the only reason I rated them a 4 instead of a 5 is the misrepresentation of the color. But that can't really happen with the black ones, can it? It's not like they're not really going to be black. I'm keeping the "white" ones and buying the black ones as we speak because I love them so.
