I have always had problems keeping my feet warm while hunting. Before spending $200 for boots, a lot of research was done. It came down to the Kenetrek Northern or Schnee’s Artic. They are basically the same boot with the Kenetrek having a more agressive sole. Since I hunt on rocky and steep terrain, I went with the Kenetrek. As a bonus, Kenetrek offered free shipping before Christmas. I initially ordered the 10″ but asked Kenetrek to send the 13″ instead. The $25 up-charge was well worth it. I had also ordered an extra pair of laces for the 10″ and Kenetrek sent the longer laces for the 13″ boot without me having to ask. Their high level of customer service is a rare commodity these days. These boots have the highest quality construction I have ever seen. They are as warm as Kenetrek says. Treat the leather with the Montana Pitch Dressing they offer and the tops are very water repellant.
If you are looking for a warm, stable, well-made boot, this is it.
